Celiac Disease

Celiac Disease

Gluten free diets are all the rage, and as a result the gluten free arena has become a billion dollar industry. Just stop by Whole Foods Market and you’ll see the explosion of gluten free goodies.

What is gluten? Much to my nieces confusion and dismay – it is not to be confused with glutton, although there are those out there, that are gluttons when it comes to gluten. I digress.

Gluten is a mixture of proteins found in wheat and related grains, including barley and rye.

Celiac disease also known as Celiac Sprue is (believed to be) a digestive and autoimmune response that results in damage to the lining of the small intestine when foods with gluten are eaten. The damage to the intestine makes it hard for the body to absorb nutrients.

*Normally, the body’s immune system is designed to protect it from foreign invaders. When people with celiac disease eat foods containing gluten, their immune system forms antibodies to gluten which then attack the intestinal lining. This causes inflammation in the intestines and damages the villi, the hair-like structures on the lining of the small intestine. Nutrients from food are normally absorbed by the villi. If the villi are damaged, the person cannot absorb nutrients properly and ends up malnourished. (*webmd.com)

For those that are gluten sensitive or gluten intolerant – a plethora of digestive issues may express ranging from gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea and weight loss.

Obviously, questions remain unanswered.

Why have we seen a rise in Celiac cases over the past couple of decades?

TIME Magazine. The Rise of Celiac Disease Still Stumps Scientists. Oct. 27, 2014 …”Perhaps there’s something different about gluten itself. The wheat seed hasn’t changed all that much, but the way we process and prepare gluten products has”, Murray says. “There have been some small studies looking at old forms of bread-making, that have suggested it’s not as immunogenic, it doesn’t drive the immune response as strongly as more modern grain or bread preparations,” Murray says. The Rise of Celiac Disease Still Stumps Scientists.

Note: We are not talking about genetically modified wheat. As of 2016, no genetically modified wheat is grown or sold commercially.

A greater awareness and improved diagnostics play a role, for sure – yet that does not completely account for the rise.

In general, our children have more shocks today that they did in the 1940’s due to the media, internet, shocking and sensationalized news formats, movies etc.

More dhs’ (conflict shocks) are occurring in children who are very susceptible.

A little known observation in German New Medicine is that disease will only express itself on the organ level with the second identical conflict shock. In other words, one had to have had an earlier conflict of an indigestible anger morsel that precedes the second, in order for the second to express itself on the cellular level.

Nature is generous in that she allows us the first shock with no expression on the cellular level. It is only when we experience a second one that is similar that it will express itself as a disease process.

Children today are privy to more and more shocks through the media and what they are exposed to.

They will often experience their first conflict earlier in life and then when the second one is experienced – it will express as disease.

Speaking in generalities, in the earlier part of the last century, the shocks were not as pervasive and the first one may not have been experienced until later in childhood before the second one even could have expressed on the organ level.

Relative to anger, think of how many kids today are in day care (and away from their family) vs. the 1940’s?

Think of how many children experience divorce today vs. the 1940’s?

Do you remember as a child, that little red wagon that you HAD to have and when that wagon (morsel) could not be obtained – how angry you were? Consider the sheer volume of “stuff” (toys, gadgets, electronics) that are dangled like a carrot on television and the web today (Facebook feeds, Twitter feeds, Pinterest pins) – that mom and dad can’t afford or probably more accurate, can’t justify the purchase of, yet little Jimmy or Suzie MUST have.

Celiac’s is a biological program of an indigestible anger, often with a sense of lack.

It all about tracks! Please bear with me.

Tracks act as reminders that contribute the chronicity and recurrence of a disease.

At the moment of the biological conflict-shock, (see catch-22) the psyche is wide open and processing billions of bits of information. The subconscious and five senses take a snapshot-in-time of everything in the ‘environment of the conflict.’ These recordings are imprinted and saved within the nervous system, until the conflict is resolved. The recordings that remain are referred to as tracks.

In biological terms, this is an allergic response. It’s purpose is clear. To serve as a heads-up, as the last time this particular track or trigger was in the snapshot, there was a high alert event – a conflict shock was experienced.

The stimuli that are recorded can serve to later send us back into conflict activity.

As mentioned, the common allergic response is a nice example of a track. If, at the moment of separation conflict (dhs) we are eating strawberries (one bit, pun intended, of perhaps hundreds of bits that are recorded in this snap-shot-in-time) we may later in life develop an allergy to strawberries that expresses in the same way as the healing phase of the original separation conflict, e.g., a rash.

That’s a very basic example, but it demonstrates the connection of an allergen to the original conflict.

The allergen or trigger also reveals much about the nature of the original conflict.

The allergen was simply “in the picture” at the moment of the dhs.

The jejunum and ileum function to move food along allowing the digestive system to absorb nutrients from our food.

The biological conflict associated with this part of the small intestine is a ‘morsel’ conflict of an indigestible anger, often with a sense of lack. Say what?

In the animal kingdom, a ‘morsel’ is literal. In our human realm, it is more often figurative – a situation, scenario, event, occurrence, relationship, person or job that we cannot accept.

Think of what is was like to be the youngest of five children, all of your clothes were hand-me-downs. There’s a sense of lack (not having enough money for new clothes) and anger (I always get the old, used clothes for school.)

If, at the moment of a biological conflict -shock relating to an indigestible anger, gluten, in some form, was in the snap-shot-in-time, gluten may serve as allergen at some point in the future.

The standard medicine interprets Celiac Disease to be an auto immune response. In other words, the body is now attacking itself.

The Second Biological Law of GNM relates to the two phase nature of all disease – conflict activity (sympathetic nervous system) and conflict resolution (parasympathetic nervous system.)

When an allergen track is present or presented to our nervous system – the subconscious is brought back to the moment in time of the original biological conflict. In other words, we go back into conflict activity. As soon as life’s events enable a resolution we immediately enter the healing phase of the conflict in question. This is nature’s way of providing the organism another chance to completely resolve the original shock.

In this scenario, we enter the healing phase of an indigestible anger morsel conflict. Symptoms of which include gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea and weight loss. Sound familiar?

Medications such as corticosteroids pull the reins in on the healing phase by stimulating a conflict active phase – so you do temporarily get relief.

When one removes gluten from their diet, it is not the avoidance of the bread, cookies et al that cures the Celiac disease. It is the removal of the track!! Meaning we no longer get triggered back into go conflict activity and the inevitable healing phase – the expression of which is Celiac’s.

Celiac is, in essence, an allergic response to the gluten.

So how do we inactivate this gluten allergy response?

By unearthing the original biological conflict and understanding how the presence of gluten, in whatever form, was a part of that snapshot-in-time, so it is released by the psyche and no longer triggers the response.

Unless these subconscious reminders are made conscious, a vicious cycle ensues.

Lactose intolerance is the same principle at play.

So, in practical application how successful are we with deactivating the tracks? Well, that all depends. If the celiac disease is ‘fresh’ it can be relatively simple to ascertain the original conflict and associated tracks. If the celiac disease has been longstanding for decades, we may have dozens upon dozens of tracks that have built up due to recurring relapse, presenting challenges. The individuals willingness to become mindful and plays a role as well.
